Letters of congratulations for wedding

Wedding letter and apologies.

Letters can be written for weddings if required, but in the modern it seems climate it is not as necessary to write long letters of congratulations for an engagement, and is usually regarded more personal to say it in a speech at the actual wedding.
With the Internet, various letters can be found as a template to use for a letter, this can also be done on an engagement card or be sent as an email. In looking at large weddings it can be necessary to send a letter that in in line as to how you are related to the bride and groom. This could apply to an email, or even a remark on a web page. There is no hard or fast rule to write a note or letter, sometimes it can be really basic, with a quotation or a small anecdote that a close family member will understand.
